yellow force(yellow)=13 musks
main force(orange)=15 musks and one knight(1/2 of red force and 1/1 yellow together)

times of attacks:

turn one:2musks from red attack osaka and 1musk and one knight attack rostok. yellow force attack minsk

the rest is just attacking

sorry about the bad map

the job of the suicide force and sea force:
these forces will be built out of brave knights that will attack together from both sides of russia. the suicide force will attack as much as they can until they die. the fleet force will attack moscow and then spread out. the invasions will give the russians a dillema: defend the main cities or kill the huge army that comes from the west.

needed stuff:

we need to use "plan A" for 22 turns for us to have enough military for this operation.

hold a victory party afterwards.

needed diplomatic actions:
ROP with the babs
preferably a alliance with the babs and irqois and good relations with them.

btw. we could throw in some more units. i dont know how much military we have because i only have civ3 on a mac

We don't have a navy to support a sea force either, but I like your thinking.

I don't think your blue force has to be a suicide force and I don't think knights are needed for it. Muskets or pikes will do if you give the blue force the objective of taking out Russia's saltpeter near St. Pete and the iron near Moscow. If we get an ROP with Babylon we could station the blue force right outside St. Pete prior to the initiation of hostilities.

I also think Osaka and Rostov would need to be targeted by seperate forces when hostilities began so that both cities could be taken in a blitzkrieg. We could investigate both cities prior to thw invasion in order to determine the size of the strike forces needed. Minsk could also be targeted in the first wave if we could muster a third strike force.

Your map illustrates nicely that once those three cities are taken the various strike forces can merge to drive through to Kiev and secure silk for Fanatika. By taking Odessa and Vladivostok on the way to Kiez should be enough to force Catherine to give us what she has in order to have peace. :)

I think this is an excellent well thought out plan, but Im not sure we should use it just yet!

An excellent plan - but I would rather do it with Panzers and take about a third of the time. They'll wait :)

We will have much bigger fish to fry once we have our Panzergruppen. :)

While we're waiting around Russia is a fine target for our knights. We can gain cities like Osaka that will help to fill out the productive ring around our Forbidden Palace, we can secure the silk near Kiev and we could very possibly extort some needed techs from Catherine at the peace table.

hmm.. but knights can move faster. Oh, and we also have Explorers (a.k.a. Covert Special Op Forces). :D

Explorers would be a good option. They should be able to get in and destroy the infrastructure before they are caught. Knights don't give a big speed advantage because the terrain there is so bad. Muskets would be the best to keep the resources away from Russia for the maximum amount of time.

I really don't want to go this deep into Russia. We should take Osaka and Rostov, and then play defense.

I think we should take Minsk too. It is 4 tile way of the next russian city. So, with only 10 culture points, it will be no foreign infuenced tile in the city radius.

I think an important goal of a Russian war would be to secure the silks near Kiev. This can be accomplished quickly if we plan properly. We can assemble four strike forces. One would be a few muskets whose objective is to cut the Russian's salpeter supply near St. Petersburg and their iron supply near Moscow. The other three would need sufficient offensive power (plus proper garrisons for our new cities) to take Osaka, Rostov and Minsk as soon as hostilities open. We can use the Babylonian RoP to our advantage as well as investigating the cities before hand to determine the size of the forces needed. These three cities would be taken in the first round of hostilities then the 3 strike forces could merge (leaving the garrisons behind). The combined force could then easily take Odessa then split to take Vladivostok and Kiev. Then we open negotiations with Catherine and take what we want. :)

I agree that the "current" consensus seems to be Russia before America. But, once we have declared war on them, what do we do of the russian troops that are playing in our territory? Do we let them take some cities because we were not prepared? No, we need a plan for those too.

We have two options regarding Russian troops in our territory. One would be to gather a force large enough to destroy them quickly, and the other (which I prefer) would be to tell them to leave or declare war the turn before we intend to attack. If they say yes, at least they are out of our interior, if they declare war, we save ourselves a rep hit. We of course, need to have some troops ready to deal with them if they declare war.
