Can someone point me towards the directions, source, whatever, on how to get civs to start in the starting location I put them in on a map I've created?

If this isn't the right forum, please move. Thanks. Also, I realize this must have been asked a thousand times, but I can't seem to find a thread title to match my request.

nevermind. I figured out how this is done. I suppose the remaining problems I have can be fixed by reading the manual.

My next thing to fix is how come when I start the scenerio (which I wasn't doing, which explains why civs were starting in the wrong place) how come it takes so many hammers to get anything built. It seems like my capital isn't starting out as a capital, but as a regular city and doesn't have the normal hammers and whatnot that a capital does. If no one answers this either, I suppose I'll get it figured out as well.

I'm not one to read manuals, which is my basic problem here. I just like to start stuff up and press buttons to see what works. LOL

i actually had the same question. can you tell me how you did it?

go to the link below for a manual. Jump to the section about creating maps, it explains it there. It's not to complicated, but the software is also not very intuitive. Don't forget to place your starting warrior or else you'll have to build one. LOL

Just asking, but does the city you placed have a Palace in it?

I'm sure that's my problem. When I get home from work today I'll bring up the map and probably discover that's it.

Edit: that was it, I didn't put a Palace in my Capital. Oops.
