Mods cause the game to freeze.

I've been having trouble with playing modded Civ, Whenever I start a game, I click on the button below the Dawn of Man screen that starts the game, and the game freezes, sometimes it freezes when I click the button, sometimes it freezes after I've pressed the button, the Dawn of Man text disappears and it freezes, I don't really understand why it's doing this, I don't have any new mods, I've verified the game, I've reinstalled it, I've tried running it in Direct X 9 instead of 11, I've updated my Graphics drivers, and it still freezes. I've noted that it freezes regardless of whether it's a modded Civ or not, the Madoka Civs cause it to freeze, but so do Civs from the base game, It's not Hulfgars mod either, since I disabled that and the game still froze.

Did anyone have a similar problem, and if so, how did they fix it?

Someone have a clue on what's going on?
