Just had to share somewhere....

It's a Skyrim mod. One thing that bugs me to death is the fact that the housecarls have a default armor that you cannot remove, which means if you give them a superior set of armor, they're still saddled with the 64lbs that the steel armor weighs with shield.

I looked around and it seemed like every mod for the housecarls did so much more than just change armor. Make Lydia look like Angelina Jolie, alter their faces, change their abilities, whatever. I didn't want any of that, I just wanted the ability to give them superior armor without a weight penalty.

Now I do confess that since I decided to do this, I did pick the racier outfits that exist in game for them to wear. I was running out of racy outfits, so I did have to use armor for Lydia. Still, it's only 6lb compared to 64, so I'm fine with that. I've given them all imperial heavy armor that I forged for them (trying to stay thematic here since I'm going the imperial path) which they jump into and out of just fine as I have them follow me or release them.

Here are two pictures, pre and post mod. The setting is the small house at Falkreath that you can build with Hearthfire DLC. The reason three of them are there is because I married Iona, made Lydia my housecarl, and Rayya because it's in Falkreath. Pity the giant that attacks now!

spoilered for size...

I think you'll like the UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul mod as it lets you change your follower's outfits, order them around and toggle various settings like whether or not they can die, all through the dialogue system.

Thanks for the link, but that's kind of the overkill I was talking about. All I wanted was the hidden armor gone, none of the other stuff. Still, though, thanks :) The intent is appreciated!
