I think it would be nice if a "line of suppy" system was implemented to represent some logistical considerations.

It would be pretty simple, all you'd need to do is keep a road/rail connected to friendly territory clear of enemy forces, and your units would heal as if you had Battlefield Medicine in Civ3. If there are enemy forces behind you, your units don't heal.

Some units(partisans or paratroopers, maybe) could heal anyway.

fantastic!!!

gerneraly blocking of transport/trading routes shell get more attention
would make it the entire game more strategic

I saw a program on the history channel where the narrator stated that something like 2/3 of those in the army (u.s.) during ww2 were in support positions (supply ect.)
I am not sure about ancient armies but i suspect that they too would have to be supplied...a few things could occur if supply lines were introduced...one would be less fighting troops, more logistically challenging long distance attacks, and more transport units (in Call to Power paratroopers start off in a plane with black and white stripes
then they parachute from this...nice graphic that makes more sense then a guy jumping into the air and parachuting down) - Non fighting units- in particular transport units- ( side note-a transport option for chariots to carry a soldier might help that unit out in so far as people actually building it would be nice since this is how the early ones (and those in ancient briton) were used) -could make the game more interesting for builders and the war mongerers alike

Hmm. How about you just have to keep a road clear leading back to friendly territory, or you don't heal?

A new unit does not need to be created. Just say units are supplied if they are within x number of tiles to a friendly city. The route can not go through the zone of control of an enemy unit.

If you want a unit, a HQ or other logistic unit would increase the number of tiles as stated above.

Special ops units would be able to be resupplied if within the operational range of a helicopter unit.

If this thread is a problem, I'm sure a mod will let me know.

your missing the point, no thread is a problem, but to make it easier for all persons involved, it would be best to keep dicussion in on a topic to one thread to easily have all viewpoints in one place, and if everyone made a new thread everytime they had a 'devolpment,' 'improvement,' or 'possibility' the forum would be very clutered and would be hard to find new topics
