Hi, guys, I thought you might be interested in my new YouTube retrospective on Civilization, one of the best strategy games ever made.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnRGsIaU6Zc

You can also read my writeup about the game at Armchair Arcade:

Please enjoy and let me know what you think! Each week, I cover another classic game that helped shape the industry as we know it today. If you have recommendations for future episodes, feel free to make them. I'm always open to new ideas. :D

I thought you were very professional in your video which is a change from the stock exposes on civ1 on the 'tube. Capital, capital!

Very well done, looks so professional.

However for core Civ players there was nothing new and to leave a capital without defense and no civil disorder = easy level etc... :crazyeye:

I will however check your other videos I saw DoC and a lot of old games I used to play and love :)

Thanks for the great video.

Thanks for the great comments!

I would never claim to have mastered the game on the level of so many folks here at these forums (I'm always interested in the communities that form around games as well as the games themselves). My main goal was just to introduce the game to people who haven't played it, as well as talk about its role in history and why it is an important game. :D

I hope you enjoy my other videos. I worked very hard on all of them.

It's a very good overview in that regard. Clean and concise. :goodjob:

I thought it was a very nice video, and made me want to start playing again (which I'll probably do). I also watched some of the other videos, pretty good stuff. I found the Plato one very interesting, as I had only briefly heard of that system and it was neat to see how advanced those old games really were.

Oh, and The Lost Vikings ftw! :-)

Thanks so much for the video. Made me long for my old DOS version. (I only have Civ 1 for windows.)

Thanks Matt,

Just watched your vid on a slow Friday afternoon and about to watch your Defender of the Crown one. Keep up the good work, you could really expand them with a series of videos on each game for the die hards...
