Because of security, we are facing a problem that I fear may become more and more difficult to overcome as the game gets going. That problem is essentially the use of images (as well as other uploaded items) in discussions and polls.
In the SP demogame, we can simply use the upload feature to upload images and then reference that image using the tag in as many threads and posts as we liked. However, doing this in the MSDG would be a severe security leak. If we simply attach an image file to a post, it works fine for that post, but you can't reference that image in another thread or post except by including a link to the post itself. Then, trying to find that post days later amongst dozens of threads containing dozens of posts each can be disheartening if not nearly impossible.
So, I propose that we create a thread, exclusively for images and documents that might be referenced often in numerous posts: the National Archives. This thread would be used solely for images that would be repeatedly referenced in future threads (ie. city placement plans, possibly some general strategy graphics, etc.). Screenshots from each turn would not belong here as they are temporary in nature. Discussion would not take place here, but rather in a separate thread with a link to the corresponding post in the archives containing the image.
