Assuming Spain (double bonus from NW as wells as +8 Faith from One with Nature Pantheon), what are the most desirable Natural Wonders?

I would think the undisputed top 5 are:
  1. Lake Victoria +12Food
  2. King Solomon's Mine +12Prod
  3. Fountain of Youth +20Happiness + Double Healing
  4. Mt. Kilimanjaro +6Food +4Culture + Altitude Training
  5. El Dorado +10Culture + additional 500G for first discovery

But amongst all others, which one would you choose if you could.

Faith NWs
  1. Uluru +4Food +12Faith
  2. Sri Pada +4Food +8Faith +4Happiness
  3. Mt. Sinai +16Faith
  4. Mt. Kailash +12Faith +4Happiness
  5. Mt. Fuji +6Faith +6Culture +4Gold

Other NWs
  1. Great Barrier Reef (two tiles) +8Science+8Food+4Prod+4Gold [+16Faith with Pantheon]
  2. Rock of Gibraltar +4Food+10Gold
  3. Cerro de Potosi +20Gold
  4. Old Faithful +6Happiness +4Science
  5. Grand Mesa +4Production +6Gold
  6. Barringer Crater +6Science +4Gold
  7. Krakatoa +10Science (don't think you can actually work this since it's usually out in the ocean far from any land)

GBR seems very strong in my opinion, but culture from Mt. Fuji might be more useful in progressing quickly through the first SP tree ...

This is honestly a really tough decision. 12 food would be nice, but your hapoiness wouldnt keep up. So id have to say fountain of youth, sollys mines, or gbr. But then again cerro de has 20 gpt. Idk id probably have to choose fountain of youth for that happiness and double healing

Depends on when you are settling it. Different stage of the game requires different bonuses. In the early game I love anything that gives a bit of food and faith. So I can settle it, grow and work the faith for a first religion immediately. Fountain of Youth and Lake Victoria are better as the game goes on. El Dorado and Solomons mine are ridiculously good in the early game.

Any of the Faith Wonders. You get One with Nature in 2-3 turns, you get a religion about 10 turns later, and then you can start spamming Pagodas and Mosques every 10 turns. With all your cities getting 3 happy and 4 culture almost from the start, it's one of the few scenarios in Civ5 where you can just spam cities.

GBR is better than any of these (even the top 5 you listed).

It has food, production, gold and science in one package. (and faith with the nature pantheon)

Lake Vic and El dorado is actually not as good as you listed at all imho.
I would choose sri pada instead of them any time.

There's no question that 2xGBR is by far the strongest. Not to mention that on occasion a fish will have spawned on one of the tiles making one tile give 6 food (!!!!). I also love coastal cities so provided the dirt around it is good it's unstoppable.

Of the faith wonders uluru is probably the strongest but it's just so BORING, settle it and found religion 10 turns later. I'd rate Sri Pada higher for its built in smiles but if i'm not mistaken it has an island bias similar to Mt Fuji - i have not once settled it early. Mts Kailash and Sinai dont give food so are much worse at a time when food and production are paramount.

Kilimanjaro on the other hand always leads to exciting, active games. The food yield is above average, the culture yield stops mattering fairly quickly but the degree of map control that Altitude Training gives you is unparalleled - you will get many CS allies as a result of cleared barb camps, you can conquer anyone you care to while laughing and any travel is hugely expedited.

El Dorado is actually pretty bad, if i find it first i'll take the 1000g no problem but since it has no food and is usually surrounded by jungle i'm unlikely to settle it early. Medieval era onwards, sure.

Can't argue that Lake Victoria is huge, but it will give you happiness problems. Set to production focus!
I rate KSM higher by a smidge, that amount of production early game is great for you whole empire. You can lock the tile on one pop, and while the city is stagnating it will pop a granary in 5 turns and start slowly growing. Then a worker will be done 6 more and your capital can do what it pleases while this city does your settler and army producing dirty work.

Question: shouldn't FOY give quadruple healing to Spain? Or is it strictly the yields when worked?

KSM and Kilimanjaro ftw!

KSM and Fuji ftw!

its not strictly yields when workings since the happiness bonuses are doubled, but promotions are not doubled from spains UA.

Lake Victoria is amazing. +12 food tile is crazy good. I'll agree with El Dorado though.

Great Barrier Reef is definitely the best to find as Spain. Not only does the double tile NW give a ton of everything, but you also get double the exploration bonus (1000 gold for finding it, just like El Dorado, but the wonder itself is awesome).

Pretty sure this cannot happen. Please correct me if I am wrong. I still agree that 2xGBR is better.

I started a game yesterday where I had GBR plus fish on a single tile. I couldn't improve the tile with a workboat though

It was a godly start to. About 6 gem nodes in 2 cities with the tears of the god pantheon (+2:c5faith: for gems). Too bad I wasn't Spain.

GBR hands down the winner. Aside form growing like crazy, having solid production, a stable gold start, 4 happiness from discovery, and most importantly as much research as an early game academy (plus implied additional research from crazy growth), I've recently found it also gives 20 culture per turn after natural heritage is passed, a proposal that never upsets anyone.

Additionally for those concerned about early faith, since natural heritage effects are doubled, it's fair to assume that the pantheon that gives 4 faith per natural wonder is also doubled, giving the two tiles combined 16 FPT. It has everything, and lots of it.

How often are you guys actually able to get GBR as Spain? I've never had it happen. :(
I just decided play my second game as Spain to see if I would be lucky enough to get this and I was. I had the faith from wonders pantheon and got Holy Warriors with my religion and the game was over soon enough.

Is it possible to get a natural wonder next to your capital?

See the immortal challenge for Spain posted recently. Lake Vic is a game breaker.

Krakatoa is clearly the strongest. Why else would it always spawn in the middle of the ocean and be completely unusable.

I actually got to use it as Korea the other day. It was pretty meh.
Depends on when, as with GBR. if you get either of these close to your capital and plant your second city there around turn 35-40, then your early game research doubles or more, leading to a snowball effect that makes you king of all runaways. If you settle near it around turn 250, it's a nice little bonus but as you said, "meh."
