I can't take you up on multiplayer, but in the event that you have no luck finding takers here, you might also check at Apolyton. Its AC multiplayer section still seems moderately active.

Apolyton and CFC are the two most active AC sites.

There is a third, civgaming.net, but at this point there are only 2 or 3 turn tracking threads for some long-running multi-player games.

I don't want to start any debate on which forum is better - I think AC players should follow both Apolyton and CFC.

I've played SMAC/SMACX off and on since I first found the game around 2002. I always seem to go back to it when I am bored with other games. Though, I have never played a multiplayer online game before and may need a little advice on how to set that up.
