Has anyone seen this bug before?

This is what happened: My capital was destroyed by barbarians early in the game. I did my best to build some good cities on my island after wiping the greeks and the romans out and I did a pretty good job. The bad thing was that I fell behind in technology due to the massive corruption I had until I had rebuilt my palace. Some mongols and aztecs landed units on my shore and declared war on me. I just kept building chariots and catapults and held off against their attacks. After I had gotten resonably strong I noticed that the french were very advanced and they were mad at me. I noticied when they attacked my city defended with phalanxes with a battleship. What was I to do?

OK, a lot of bla bla bla here. To speed up the story, the french founded three cities an small islands close to my continent. I saved money and then incited revolts there stealing automobile, rocketry and nuclear fission (the french had already built manhattan project and started a nuclear war on their neighbours, the aztecs). I decided I had to nuke the french and so I did and I succeded in taking three of their cities on their continet including Paris. When I captured Paris I got the message that the French were divided into two groups, one being babylonians. I think this happens when you take a capital from a civilization that i stronger than you. Now the french offered peace and a few turns later they built the apollo program.

Now, finnaly, comes the bug. Those Babylonians got all the tech that the French had I guess and both of them started building spaceships. I couldn't see what their spaceships looked like though, and the next turn when both were building the program crashed. Somehow the program cannot handle two civs who used to be one building spaceships both of them.

Interesting, but not surprising really. If you consider the fact that splits rarely happen that late in the game and it seems such an obvious consequence from a programming point of view (I'm a programmer). The good news is this bug probably won't ever occur again. Of course, you've lost your game. Better luck next time!
