Me and my friends are having a lan we usally play Birth of the Federation or Civilization once were going to play Galactic Civ 2 but someone told us it does not have a multi player?

is this true?

I seem to recall a way to do hotseat multi. But I can't remember how, I think its with a list of cheats if you want to search the official site. Like ctrl-z or something after you edit the ini file... *shrug*

No true Multi though. Polls were taken, Stardock didn't get enough feedback/support to go thru the extra hoops.

Sigh, this game is just dying for multiplayer . Anyway, the AIs are just too predictable and the game becomes a little stale afer a time. The game would seem to lend itself to multiplayer very well, and since combat is self-contained. I guess there would be come delay during opponents turns, but livable....

Best part is still the designing ships

Indeed, yet the only way to have anyone see them this far is to either post the relevant ship files altogether - or to post screenshots would be nice to have people actualy using their own designs in Multpiplayer games (not to mention the own custom Portraits which nobody ever sees in-game.

EDIT: Nevermind. LOL. Metaverse confused me. This game definatley needs multiplayer.

It will have multiplayer. The expansion pack after the current one is going to have it. The devs said so.

You can still buy it now and practice with it, or you'll have a lot of catching up to do.

I got it.

I am currently creating alot of my starter ships. I have made 3 light fighters that unlock with the respective weapon (guns, missles, or beams), Basic life support, and Impulse drive MkII. Also a colony ship and construction ship I am still working on the designs to and hoping to step into heavier ships this weekend. The custom ship design is just awesome. I have probably played for about 30-50 hours since I got it and probably only 5-6 of those hours have NOT been in the shipyard designer.

I can't wait for this expansion pack.

Cool. When is this expansion planned to come out? I will probably look up any info I can find on it sometime this week but figured I would go ahead and ask if anyone knew. Or if you know of a good site I can look at for the expansions information. (I am assuming Stardock.com) I want to get my custom race set up mostly this weekend.

I have been making myself stay out of the shipyard, it distracts me for hours and then I come back and go "oh crap I forgot what I was planning on. There is going to be even more designs in the expansion as well isnt there? I will never sleep I would like to see a few more "wings" of different styles come in the "others" section though.
