No space ship, what give? Please help, desperate!

I'm sorry that this may below in Tech Support section, but this is driving me nuts! I just built the last component to the space ship (and I'm fairly sure I enables space victory, I've never unchecked it) and the space ship screen didn't come up giving me the launch button! No biggie, I'll just click on the little S and launch it from there. WHAAAAAAAAT!? I click, nothing happens. It indents, but that's it! A few turns later the Iroquois finished their last component, but nothing happened, it just told me they finished and the game continued. I'm at war with the English, does that matter? This is driving me nuts! I haven't read anywhere that you need anything else but all of the parts to launch the #@(* thing!

if it's after 2050 you can't launch because you already either won or lost the game due to score. I know it sucks but thats how it goes.

Did you win (or lose) the game already by some other means? If so, you can't launch, regardless of whether the spaceship victory was enabled or disabled. Your problem, followed by the Iroquois notice, makes it sound like the game has already been won or lost (you can;t build SS parts with the victory condition disabled).

BTW, if all you really want to do is watch the SS movie, go to your Inforgrames / Civilization / Art / Movies folder, rename "intro.bik" to something else like intro2.bik, rename "space_race.bik" (or something similar - there are only three movies to chose from) to "intro.bik" and shut down then restart the game. Instead of the intro you'll see the spaceship launch. When you've had your fill, put the file names back to their original form.

Okay, I now see that many people are having this problem. Argh...and it would have been my first Regent win. I want to kill it! ARGH! (Nobody has won, by the way, it's definitely the bug.)

Do you have spaceshipe victory allowed, because i won my last game with spaceshipe and it worked, as soon as i built the last part, i launch it from the spacshipe screen and then the nice movie with flower and space shuttle.

Try to start a new game and look into game setting if spaceshipe victory is allowed, if no then it mean in your previous game it wasnt allowed either. But it maybe a bug to, some other member have report same problem.

No, space ship victory is enabled. I've seen the space ship splash screen anyway, it's not that, it's just that would be my first Regent win.

Tassadar, if the space ship win was disabled, you wouldn't be allowed to build the space ship. Like if you disable diplomatic, you can't build the UN.

Start a new thread and write MIKE B FIRAXIS in it, sometimes he come here and he may answer this problem.
