Good thread and good idea but I agree it should be optional.

We can always put the official badge in our offical posts without mucking about with our signatures or avatars.

I like the idea but it MUST be optional - I have finaly found an avatar that nobody else has! Anyway it will take me forever to get 300 posts.

How do you guys get so many posts.

I think that we should make it so that people can only change there custom avatar so many times a month (or at least encourage it). I have noticed that many people seem to be changing their custom avatars a lot and it can get confusing when you start to recognise people by there avatar like I do. However I think that by having avatars for certain positions this would/should stop.
