Hi, Just bought Civ 4 and I must say it's excellent! I've had no trouble playing it... until now.

While playing, I was negotiating with the Persian Empire and I always have a calendar program running in the background which pops up messages to remind me of things, which it did therefore minimizing CIV 4. When I maximised CIV 4, I found that the negotiation panel was placed BEHIND another panel and therefore I couldn't access the last three options meaning I couldn't get off the negotiation screen (see pic). Has anyone else had this?

I have had this problem. As a temp fix, you CAN use the arrrow keys to cursor down to the choice you want, and then hit ENTER.

Thanks, I also found clicking on the worldmap to zoom out removes the panel so I can click on the options.

I posted another way on the bug report forum where you can hit ctrl-w which takes you to worldbuilder where you can delete it to.

I've had this, too.

My solution: scream something that'd make my grandmother puke, launch my Zippo across the room, then restart the computer.

I'm losing a lot of Zippos with this game...

Oh, I didn't know you had to make your GRANDMOTHER puke! I thought it was my grandfather I had to make puke. So that's why it didn't work. I wish you would of told me sooner. Also, I hear Ralphs is having a sale on Zippos in case you need to stock up on more.

No, it was Grandma. The latency of GMvomit2005.exe is slightly lower than GFvomit2003.exe, so it seems to work better for me. I uninstalled my Drivermissdaisy.dll and did the hokey pokey, and turned myself around but I patted my head and rubbed my belly when I should have patted my belly and rubbed my head! (I know--rookie mistake...) I was just about to install a .30-06 into the motherboard, but then heard something about the compatibility of the 150FMJBT with the D925XCV (or is it vxc? I digress...), so instead considered a .45ACP+P (x8) into the RAID, but wasn't sure if I should be hitting it with the SXT or the JHP, but I didn't think it'd make much difference either way, so that's why I chucked the Zippo at the wall, at an angle of 250 degrees. That seemed to help.

So if you're having similar problems, you might want to try that. The Zippo was a 2002 Custom model, overclocked, but undercooked like my ex-wife's Thanksgiving turkey, with a Rosonol flint and genuine Zippo fluid. Don't use Rosonol fluid; it'll evaporate far too quickly and you'll have to reinstall fluid.cab sooner than you think, I'll tell you!

So.

The patch is going to be released...

WHEN?!

Hey Clown, it worked! Thanks for your step-by-step instructions (can't see why Firaxis didn't include this in the first place)

:goodjob:

Hey, you're very welcome. Glad to be of assistance --if merely as comic relief.

All seriousness aside, you may want to send the screenshot to 2K tech support along with your DxDiag.

also you can use ALT-I or SHIFT-I and you'll never have the issue again ;). BTW those hotkey reduce/get rid of the interface that is gettign in your way.
