I read in this weeks NY Times week in review section about bluegrass, and that some band had done an entire remake of the wall, entirely in bluegrass. I have seemed to have misplaced this section of the paper, so I do not remember what band or the name of the new version. Can anyone post this information?

nice stuff, I like bluegrass, and I love Pink Floyd, Im going to check that out!

I just finished learning the Solos of "mother", "Comfortably Numb" and "In the Flash?". No one, and I mean no one, is going to change it now.

PS The album is perfect as it is.

I have to agree. Nothing wrong with Bluegrass really, but can you really imagine "Comfortably Numb" as a Bluegrass song? Ugh!

"The Wall" is the greatest piece of music written in the last 50 years! :yeah:
But only if kept together, it´s like a classical symphony, you can´t just take one part out of it and expect to make it better.

Pink Floyd´s (or better Roger Waters´) masterpiece is PERFECT as it is. Nothing will do it any better, except maybe a live concert with the original band, not just parts of it! *drooling*

Pink Floyd created a whole new style of rock music and "The Wall" is at the absolute top. If one is to change the style of it, it would no longer be The Wall.

The album and the movie, too, is just the best! (for me at least ;))
:D

hmmm... I wonder how they got Another brick in the wall pt2 done with a banjo??? A disco beat in bluegrass, just can't see it :)

Bluegrass can only improve it. Bluegrass is life. (Don't get me wrong, The Wall is great.)

I'm a sucker for this kind of crazy stuff - I think I found the web page here...

Pink Floyd - Bluegrass Style

EDIT: Maybe we should extend this thread to a general discussion of "interesting" music. If anyone has any other suggestions for the musical equivalent of William Shatner's "Hey Mr Tambourine Man", I would love to know...

I've found some of the songs through the wonders of the internet. It's an interesting thing to listen too. Run Like Hell is the most interesting song so far, I think they did a good job. Comfortably Numb songs, to put it gently, hillbillyish, not to say that's a bad thing. I can send mp3's to anyone interested, just PM me.

Of course, it's not anywhere near the masterpiece the original is. I like Pink Floyd more for the distinctive sound.
