We are 6 turns away from Republic.
It doesn't matter whether we revolt immediately or not, we do have to choose a new

tech to research.

At the moment we are only able to research 2 techs; Construction and Monarchy.

But I also include some Middle Age tech, just in case we trade ourselves into that. Those votes are only valid if the Construction trade poll winner is a trade in the preturn or when we research Republic.

What tech do we want to research after Republic ?

Construction.
Monarchy.
Monotheism (Only possible if we reach the Middle Ages through trade).
Feudalism (Only possible if we reach the Middle Ages through trade).
Engineering (Only possible if we reach the Middle Ages through trade).
Abstain ( = I don't care, any tech is fine).

Construction
 
Not construction, because IMHO you never waste research on a tech already know to 3 other civs, when you can trade for it.

Not monarchy, because we know republic and can trade for monarchy sooner or later.

I'm always in favor of engineering, because it is least likely that the AIs research it. If we are faster than the AIs research feudalism, we can trade for that and have the benefit of movement across rivers, which is valuable on this map.

IMHO what this poll lacks is planning for the case that we can trade for all first level techs because the scientific AIs get the all for free. The discussion seems to emphasize going for gunpowder which I support.
 
Construction of course. If we get it via trade, then engineering for the gunpower/cavs path.
