Possible Mac 1.29f & Editor Work Around?

I was wondering, if a Mac 1.29f patch was written w/ an uninstall feature, if we could then have our choice in how we play Civ3. I'm figuring this could work, since the 1.21g editor is not installed.

Is it possible? From what Brad has said, it would definitely be easier than writing a entire editor/1.29f upgrade.

Why can't a 1.29f patch be "shareware?" [I know, some of you will say, "I'm not going to pay more for something I've already paid for."]

Brad, how much would it take to get someone to build it on the side? What would be the legal restrictions, if any?

There's no realistic scenario I can see for making a patch "shareware", nor for charging something on the Mac side for which PC users get for free. As I said in another post, if I had the free time, I'd do it for free. That's the most I'm willing to promise. If it happens, it happens.

Brad, what about an "uninstall" feature where just the 1.29f improvements are included, not the 1.29f editor? Is it a ridiculous idea from a programmer's perspective?
