While I dont have any problem taking a screenshot of the whole screen with command-shift 3, trying to select an area to screenshot with command-shift 4 seems to only work randomly.
I select the area.. release the mouse button and hear a click. Maybe 15% of the time I get the screenshot I want. The other times I get either a black square or only some portion from the top part of my screenshot. Am I doing something wrong or is this something the rest of you see as well? Is there any trick to get it to work better?
using version 1.29 in OS 10.2.6
