Question about Quattromaster Challenge

Hi everybody!

Having just submitted my first ever game (for G-Minor 15), I was looking around the HoF, and I have a question regarding the Quattromaster Challenge:

In order to qualify for one of the sub-events, do the settings not directly related to that section matter? Uh...that's not as clear as I'd like it to be...Ok, here's an example of what I'm rambling about:
League of Nations: Requires submitting a valid HoF entry for each of the 18 civs, yes? So, assuming my settings meet HoF reqs, would 18 games on Settler, duel-sized map, with conquest victory, meet the reqs for completion of the LoN sub-event?
Or do the games have to have specific difficulty/mapsize/maptype/victory condition that I'm not seeing anywhere? Similarly, for the Tempi Trophy, is civ/mapsize/maptype relevant, or just any game, with any settings that meet general HoF reqs?
I guess what I'm asking in brief is, does difficulty matter for any of the sub-events, other than Inferno (and the Gauntlets, of course)?

OK! It's official, I'm tired and none of that was very clear...:crazyeye:
Thank you in advance to anyone who actually read that through, and a cookie to anyone who understood it enough to answer!:)

ok i'm new too, but i love cookies so i'm gonna try and hope i get it right.

one game can count for several categories on the table. like, the only viking game i submitted so far was also my only conquest, and my only archipelago, and it's on my chart for all 3. so, yes 18 settler duel conquest games with different nations would fill your LoN table.

going by that theory, i'm submitting all my attempts at g-minor 15, using nations i haven't before, to fill up my LoN table. sneaky eh? they'll all be settler/epic/standard but they're different leaders so they count for something.

i've read about some people trying to get QM with only 18 games total. in theory it would work if the gauntlets matched settings you hadn't filled in yet. i don't know if anybody's done it with only 18 games tho.

the ones i'm most scared of are the gauntlets, since even diety inferno i know i can win one day when i have the patience someday to rig the maps you know? so i'm thrilled that now i have a g-minor done!

Right, everything you've said goes along with my assumptions, so that's good! There's no way I'm going to try to do the whole thing in only 18 games, because G-Majors are way out of my league (as is any game at difficulty levels beyond what I'm used to). But, if I can get away with it, I'll just do a whole whack of low difficulty games, fill up my LoN, Machiavelli, MapQuest, and Tempi tables; then I'll only have to get the higher levels under my belt for Inferno and G-Major. But methinks I'll wait to see if the two games I've submitted thus far are accepted before I go playing more, just in case I AM doing something wrong with the mod or the settings or whatever.

Thank you for your help, you've earned that cookie! :)

...Is there a spellcheck button anywhere around...

Actually, I think the only difference between Minor and Major gauntlets is that Major gauntlets are generally more time consuming than Minor ones, hence you get twice the time to complete a game that meets the settings.

the lowest difficulty major i see on the list is so far is prince. but i know this minor is settler and at least one previous was chieftain. so i'm a lot more scared of the major, honestly.

Actually there are only two "hard" games in the whole quattromaster challenge: minor and major gauntlet. You can basically get to Quattromaster (as I did) by winning the two gauntlets (hard for inexperienced players), win the 5 higher difficulties with other civs and duel conquest (easy if you kept Inca for quechua deity, Rome and Persia for Emperor and Immortal). Then all you need to do is finish the remaining victory conditions in settler diff, and do some more civs.

18 games, and you are Quattromaster.

I think I'm ok as far as the Minor goes (though yes, I did muck it up, AGAIN  ) But I'm on my third, and hopefully final, attempt to get it right! Getting the G-Major will depend on what settings they decide to require (the current Major I won't even bother to attempt at my current skill level). LoN, Tempi, Machiavelli, and MapQuest I'll have no trouble with (though I'm not a fan of Archipelago maps, and I've never had a Space victory...yet), so my only concerns are the Major, and the higher difficulty levels for Inferno. It will NOT be happening in 18 games, I predict, though I might as well try to do it in as few as possible, just for the fun of trying...

It took 21 games for me, and my skills are, well Noble till Prince lvl. Made some silly mistakes (like playing a game on Prince difficulty which I had planned for Noble difficulty).

If you can beat Noble regularly, you'll be fine with Quattromaster. And yes, gauntlets will take several attempts (3 for minor, ~15+ for major).

Well, I got my G-Minor submitted...it was my third try, but all three were successful games, I just mucked up (first one I forgot to turn the HoF mod on, second one I submitted the wrong files...but both would have been valid had I done the technical parts right...). So third try is the charm, and it was accepted, so that's that!

Other than that, I was thinking I'd spend the weekend working on some other games but...my laptop decided to die on me, so I'll be spending more time trying to fix that then anything else!
