Question about Sea Ice

I love to use Vitalize on the ice and Tundra tiles on land but is there anything that can be done to eliminate/improve the sea Ice. I'd love to be able to manoever around it but I haven't found a spell/ability to get rid of it. Am I missing something or do I just have to learn to live with it?
