Just a quick question..... On the benifits of market places.... to they boost the Commerce by 50% or do they only good the Trade and luxury portions of commerce? So basicly do they help science also

They do not help science. They only help gold and luxuries.

The more internal commerce you have, the more gold you generate, and the more the population of the city are able to afford luxuries...provided you have a luxury rate set. You can get away with no luxuries, unless you're in a Republic or Democracy; then you have to grant at least some to "keep the people's hearts...content!"
