Railroad glitch and maybe an undocumented change?

After completing a railroad, on some tiles the train tracks graphic doesn't display. The tile still gets the +1 to mine/irrigation bonus, but the movement bonus isn't there. Reloading/exiting the game doesn't seem to fix this. Hope i'm not missing something obvious.

And..Has anyone noticed a difference with Republic? Its been awhile since i've played this far into the game but republic doesn't feel as productive as it should be. Maybe they tweaked it a bit, making Democracy superior as it should be?

Also, horseback riding is no longer an optional tech. No more war chariots until knights.

You can still take cities through renogiating peace treaties if you're willing to take a rep hit. When they approach you to renew the treaty, decline without leaving the diplomacy screen. Now you'll be able to take their cities.

War chariots upgrade straight to Knights in v1.21.

You can't skip over the tech now, you'll be paying 1/3 more for a horseman with the same stats as a chariot. Also you can't build more war chariots after you've hit your golden age if you picked up horseback riding. I might be thinking of the tech tree wrong though.

Nobody else has had any problems with railroads? I hate it when these things just happen to me.

Its definitely not displaying correctly on some tiles. However if you complete a railroad on a tile next to it, it'll "update" and display correctly on all connecting tiles. Kind of annoying since i like to improve the more productive squares first, but no big deal, just check the city screen. I could have sworn i checked this last night, but it was late and i guess i misclicked. Sorry.

I noticed this once too, but I thought it was just because the nearby jungle was blocking my vision ...
