I want to be able to have resources randomly generate on a static map. I have no idea about how to go about this.
There is a thread:
This mod does not work for me no matter what I do and the mod maker has not been on for 1 1/2 years. I think the code is old and no longer works.
First question, so I don't reinvent the wheel, has anyone else done such a script? I've seen a randomize goodyhuts mod, but not one for resources.
Second, if I end up doing my own, what .lua generates resources... can I simply add that file to my mod? I've seen a file named Worldbuilderrandomize.lua (sic). Could that be used?
About the worldbuilder, there is a setting under the misc tab that can be checked for random resources; however, when I scatter resources, only one of each strat and lux resource is put on map. As well, I don't know if this setting is intended so that the resources will regenerate every time a game is started, which is my intention.
Any advice to a novice modder would be appreciated.
Thank-you.
