Rapid Expansion Optimal Early Strategy Post Patch?

I usually use the African Union (free Relics), artists (extra culture) and laboratory (Pioneering tech) for REX. I build 2 explorers from my capital. The bonus of satellites is important only early on, besides it increases the chance of getting one solar collector. I got two in my current game. :yeah:

I get a worker and a colonist from Virtues. After that, I go for knowledge to get +10% culture, -10% cost for new Virtues, -40% culture and -40% research penalty because of number of cities.

I try to leave the aliens alone. They don't annoy me too much and I get some plus points from some civs.

I try to settle my first cities near the AI to block them and get more land without building cities. And I get an electric fence and choose to protect my convoys from aliens. I use trade rote to keep the AI happy.
