I've been playing Civ for a while - and in the last few days really got into a global Civ5 contest - when I kept getting memory 'bad allocation' errors - so I decided I would do a reinstall of the program...WRONG!
Since then, I have been unable to open Civ because of the follow error which occurs within a second or two of double clicking on either desktop icon, .exe file, or direct from the DVD.
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access item."
This is a home machine - I am the Administrator - and as far as I know nothing changed between un-install and reinstall. I have also reinstalled all the updates/patches up to 1.74
My system is:
Intel 2 CPU 4400@2.00Ghz - 3.00 GB RAM - 32 bit OS Windows Vista Home Premium
