Removing units from appearing on top of cities

Is it possible to view the map without showing the units in cities. I am aware that you can remove the view of all units but I just want to remove the view of units in cities but leave all other units in sight.

Cannot find a way to do that. Anyone have any ideas?

I've looked for this too. As far as I can make out, the option has not been included. And I suspect this particular feature would require some pretty advanced modding, ie out of my depth.

I pulled this thread up, and only this thread, from a search I ran. Anyone figure out how to do this yet?
