Resource spawning

Hi, just got Conquests, and while playing a couple games, I noticed that natural resources don't spawn as much as the original Civ3. I now have to expand ouside of my comfort zone to get resources such as iron and horses in the beginnning. Is there a fix for getting the computer to spawn more resources or do I have to start playing bigger maps?

I usually play smaller maps to cut down on the wait times, but it seems that with the expansion, this problem is alleviated alittle bit, but I was still wondering if there was a setting I could tune to get more resources spawned because it is a bit of a pain to walk across the map to get some necessary resources. If you go into the Editor you should be able to change the appearance rate of all resources. I'm not too experienced with the Editor so I can't give you point by point details on how to do it, but I'm sure that you can. You'll need to select something like 'Edit Rules' from a menu and it will give you a prompt telling you about how you if you change stuff you might mess up the game, etc. You'll need to select 'Yes'. Then go find the Resources tab.

If memory serves, appearance ratios for strategics should be increased by a third to get Vanilla/PTW-like amounts of strategic resources. You'll see less bonus resources (and luxuries? Don't remember).
