i think in Civ4 that revolutions should be more realistic. in civ3, you just chill for a few turns, and voila! you get the government you want. i was thinking new civs (maybe one or two difficulty levels worse) would appear as parties, take over a few cities, and you'd have to fight them for the government you want.

this is the "big picture" i'm giving everyone. have anything to add on? :D

There are revoulutions. Democracys have them when stay at war for too long.
Revoulutions in CIV 3 are damaging at times (Civil disorder destroys buildings, no money output.)
 
i knew there were revolutions, but i think you should have to conquer other parties to win the government you want. in the russian revolution, lenin didn't wait 7 turns of anarchy and then he got communism. same with the french, american, etc.

maybe if you lose the revolution fight, whatever party conquered you is what government you'll get.
