I am new to the board, but some early observations:

1. The amount of people griping about the game. I simply don't understand this. If Civ IV is so much better, then why play Civ V? Move on, and go back to playing Civ IV.

2. Why would the Civ series spend all that money on development, etc, just to make Civ IV v2 with better graphics? Surely, you expected changes.

3. 99.99% doubtful that a single developer visits this board and takes your suggestions into play. Besides, half the time you can't even access the site anyhow due to it being hosted on 486 computers with 9600 baud modems.

4. If you are thinking about starting a thread b*tching about Civ V - guess what - your opinions are not unique. They've been said in every thread complaining about the game. The mods should really be on this because every thread seems to be about people complaining about the game. Are people on this board most younger kids, or what?

I paid the same $50 for this game you did.

If you have the right to make a post :):):):):)ing about people :):):):):)ing about Civ 5, I have just the same right to make a post :):):):):)ing about Civ V.

I'll gripe about this game because it is a dumbing down of the series. If people bought Civ V based on their expectations after years of playing the franchise, they have every right to complain.

And yes, their opinions are unique. Not everyone likes and dislikes the same things about the game. If you don't agree with the content of a thread, leave it alone.

Edit: I'd argue that the majority of people complaining about Civ V are not kids either, but long time fans upset with the direction of this incarnation. I'm 29 myself.

Except that the majority of you present yourselves as if you're all stating fact and the rest of us (read: fanboys) are apologists and sheeple for actually enjoying the game and *gasp* daring to support it.

You're entitled to your opinion, just like the Op and anyone else that's sick of the endless ranting by the same handful of people.

Despite our disagreements in the Persian thread, I agree 100% here.

The only people complaining are an extremely small niche who think Firaxis should cater to them for "all the support they've given them since Civ I", even though there are probably more old-time Civ players who enjoy Civ V, at least if the age poll is to be believed (as ironically the biggest group of complainers were in the same age group that they claimed Firaxis is pandering towards.) Considering Civ V is currently the most played game on Steam by far I think it's safe to say they're far outnumbered by people who aren't mired in the old ways and refuse to change for the game.

They wanted a Civ IV expansion pack, except had they done what they asked I'm sure they'd start complaining about Firaxis charging them $50 for an expansion. They just enjoy complaining.
