Rise of Rome: What's wrong with this picture?

This is Emperor. I'm gonna win all the conquests on Emperor before going any higher, although WWII in the Pacific takes way too long... :(
Any strategy tips you could share with us who are lacking in skills?

What I did was I:

A) Signed only the Persians and Celts against the Carthiginians. Not sure if this was smart.
B) First attacked Sicily. I sent all my troops there, and I controlled all of the island by turn 6.
C) I skipped Sardinia and Corsica and went straight for Carthage itself. It was only defended by three defenders, only one NuMe, so my legion army and the four legions I landed easily captured the city.
D) I then sent the army and three legions to attack the eastern part of Carthage. One legion for each of the cities to garrison. I had gotten new reiforcements at this time.
E) Then I just overpowered the Carthiginians and swept across Africa, whipped a few galleys, and sailed to Spain.
F) Then I attacked the Celts, taking four cities before their SoD got to me. I signed peace for a lot of cities.
G) I went straight from Oligarchy to Imperialism. I cash-rushed a lot of settlers in Brittania.
H) I built the Temple of Artemis in Rome. It's a great wonder for Domination.
I) I then continued to kill the Celts after they had gassed themselves on Persia.
J) Citizens are awesome.

That's partly due to Persia getting killed. Usually, Persia would walk right over Egypt, but in this game, they were too busy handling Macedonian and (later) Scythian troops to attack Egypt.
That's why I don't like it. I modern warfare in all its forms because I moving all those units. Besides, why do the Japanese have artillery on random islands that should be in China?
I really modern warfare also

I think the rushing part is the one I should work on. I have not too much trouble playing emperor, especially military games, but rushing stuff I rarely do, especially whipping.

Thanks Tomoyo. If I end up losing again I will revisit woth your stratgey.

Maybe it's not that strange because in my current game Macedon actually took 2 of the Persian cities, plus it's own back, AFTER Persia took Greece's Asia Minor cities and Byzantium. Maybe it's because I signed Scythia, Macedon and Egypt against Persia while Rome was at war with them too.

Oh, and I'm having too much fun kicking the crap out of Rome after they took Sicily and Corsica, I may have to start concentrating more on Persia as they are the only civ ahead of me. Stupid locked war crap (I'm Carthage if you haven't figured it out). I'll try and get a screen

I have played this scenario several times at Emperor. On 2 occasions Persia didn't just get its *ss handed to it by Macedon, but actually was wiped out by a Carth-Maced-Scyth alliance. for Persia

Persia will, very rarely, lose to Macedon. Macedon just needs to have a few good RNG rolls. It also helps if they get Military Training and thus Heavy Cavalry before Persia does.

Tomoyo, I am in the middle of playing this conquest (you inspired me) and Persia appears to be losing pretty badly in my game, too.

First, I attacked Sicily and took all of it.
Then I attacked the Celts before they got too many Gallic Swordsmen (in the past, they have been an absolute PAIN for me) and crippled them.
Having gotten the Celts off of my back, I traded and helped out Macedon as well as I could, so long as it benefitted me, saw that Carthage just completed the Great Lighthouse in Caralis and captured that island, then went back to conquering the rest of the celts and expanding eastward. I just sparked off a campaign to take Spain from Carthage and Macedon has been spanking Persia all game long.

What I have found most helpful in this scenario is to not research Tactics. I saved Tactics, Military Training, and the Republic for last because getting to those techs too soon resulted in my not being able to produce Legions quickly enough due to their much higher cost. As a result, I could barely advance on the Celts and defend myself properly from Carthage. What I did was pump out a lot of Legion I's through the course of the game, and I found that they were all that I needed against the Celts. Later on, I just upgraded a good 90 Legions up to III's and now I am just steamrolling the Carthaginians.

Here's the final screenshot from my game:

Egypt was conquered by Macedon and Carthage, while Persia was conquered by Macedon and was left with one little city. I only fought two Immortals the entire game, and that is because they landed on Sicily.

Does anyone know what the "Future Tech" is?

Future techs don't do ANYTHING AT ALL except give you 5 extra points (but you can get more by having tons of money)

Yeah, I just found this out the hard way, lol. Ah well. At least I conquered some more of Macedonia, however they just dropped 200+ Ancient Cavalry on the doorstep of two of my newly aquired cities. =oP

on one of my games the Macedonians pushed the Persians out of Europe mainland and actually built a force and established a base in Turkey where the stalemate reached.
