Runtime Error when installing on Vista

When I try to install Civ IV on my new computer running Vista, the setup
program asks me to insert disk 2. When I do, and press "Ok", I get a pop up error window :

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\Users\ADMIN~1\AppData\Local\Temp\_isAADA.exe
Abnormal Program Termination "

I appreciate any help you can offer me.

This is a pretty generic error which basically means that an application encountered some sort of problem (duh!). Any other messages or errors? Try looking in the windows event log.

Try running the installation program with administrator rights (when you insert the CD, if autoplay pops up hit cancel. Then navigate to the CD, right click an select open. Find the setup file, and right click on it and select the option to run as administrator)

Make sure your Disc is clean, and free of obvious smudges and scratches.

You should also make sure Vista has been updated from Microsoft.
