I know the intro to the game itself can be skipped by pressing the space bar, what I'm looking to skip is the part about sailing to the west when you start a new game, the thing that goes from 'In the year of our Lord 1492' and ends with 'Set sail to find a new beginning. A New World!' after a minute or two.

I know for sure I was able to skip it when I played it in the past, so it should be possible, but no matter how much key combinations I try, I can't seem to find it.

Anyone have any idea?

i start my executable running the viceroy .exe that skips the intro automatically. when it gets to the set sail screen i just press space or return a few times and it jumps out at the second or third frame. may be my copy but may be because you start with viceroy.exe

Hit space immediately you get the, "In 1492..." message. That should cancel the start of game sequence.

But don't hit any other key. If you hit anything other than Space or Return, it is possible that the game locks. You then have to go through the whole tedious saga.

With dos box you can increase the frame rate with ctrl and f8 to 10, then it will complete in a few seconds.

I tried several times with this I still have to wait those 2 min.
My old game just let me in after pressing space, maybe it is the dosbox that makes this.
Or maybe this version of colonization I found online is a bit different.
I might find the old file somewhere i´ll look around my computer graveyard.

does not work on version 3.00 if started via dosbox + colonize.bat ;(

(my english not good)

English: You can press ALT+F12 for fast reward. ;) The music then plays very quickly. I counted 18 seconds. :) Testet in DosBox 0.74.
Getestet in DosBox 0.74.
