SMAC-X Cannot Locate CD?

Hey all,

After waiting 3 weeks for my CD to come in the mail from America (im australian), i went to Install Alien Crossfire. After playing Alpha Centauri for such a long time, i wanted to play the expansion. Anyway, alls fine. I installed the game over my original SMAC folder. Then it just wouldnt work. After reading some threads here, i found fix's for my problem, and the game intialized.

But now, when i go to select Alien Crossfire at the start screen, it pops up, cannot locate cd. when actual cd is in the drive.
However if i place my SMAC Cd in, and use the classic version, it runs fine.

Is there a solution to get around this ? a patch fix?

Patches: SMAC-X v2
OS: Vista
PC: 3.2ghz processor, radeon xt 256mb gfx card etc. So my pc isnt sluggish.

Are you sure you are using the correct CD drive?
I remember that in some other older games it remembers which drive it is installed from, and so if you try and use another drive to play it won't be able to find the CD.

your right... i have 2 CD Drives in my computer...

and it works now, if i put it in my regular drive, and not the dvd burner... i didnt even think of that, thanks!
