Some LAN, Some Online, Some Mac, Some PC. Possible?

I want a game that 4 people can be on the LAN at my house (2 macs, 2 PC's) and at least 1 person play with the guys on the LAN via internet.

Will Civ4 allow me to do this (I looked online and was able to find out the CIV4 will support multiple platforms on a LAN, but not sure about ability to add in online players).

If it will do the above, how many total players can play (and does it matter how many or LAN and how many or WAN)?

I am currently running a pitboss game with direct IP connection. I can access the game using any PC on my network and 8 other people are playing over the internet. I don't have any macs though, although I don't know what the internet people are playing with.
