Hi there ,i recently repurchased sid meier's civil war collection after having lost my original Sid's Gettysburg.
Now im in a superb mood after having retreived this old gem ,and people who know what i'm talking about will know all to well what i mean.
However ,as often happens with older games and people with a system that has XP installed + 3D graphic's card and other more modern post game software it seems the game aint all that compatible:
-Getty'sburg doesn't work at all ,i somewhow lack a dll ,i get the message " ...game root\SMG\MSVFW32.dll is not a "legal" (depending on translation ,i use Dutch OS) windows copie ,....
-I can run Antitam however ,and the third game ,just not Gettysburg.However i can't run Antitam in any resolution higher that 640x480 ,the test program supply'd with the game won't find my max resolution that is 1600x1200 (19" screen) ,though even at this ancient low resolution the game is still most enjoyable it gets harder to control ,the higher rosultion gives you the overview that you need when the battle is getting epic.
My directx version is afcourse way higher than the one supply'd with the game.
