Hello friends, my first post here. I am a long time member though. Thank you for this great site!

I just bought Civ 6 today, and spent nearly $500 with the new video card, both of which are sealed in their boxes in front of me. I am wondering though if this game is really worth it, as it is the only PC game I ever play. I have been playing since Civ 2, and have put in more hours than most of you kids have lived and breathed air.

I did not play Civ 5 for more than 20 hours. I am the kind of guy that turns off animations, enables stack attack, and plays pretty much the exact same game (new map though) every time using the lovely modded units on this site. I play Civ 4 like a board game, not like Command and Conquer when it was cool to watch the little dudes fight. I do like the animations of the airplanes though, but most of the time, I just want to move my stacks around and organize them. Civ 4 was all about organizing stacks of doom!

When I read the reviews of the game. as usual, they were spectacular! 9.3 out of 10??? really, ok. But anyways, one of the reviews I read didn't even mention anything about combat. ROFL< this is the main reason I play Civ... If I don't care about military, and just want to build universities and malls, I will play Sim City or Roller coaster Tycoon. Come on guys, what happened to the real CIv?

I "borrowed" a copy from my "friend" and will try it before I open the package, but from what I am reading so far on this page, I am very disappointed. Please, someone tell me, is there a way to disable these units ability to transform into boats when they get into the water? It looks almost as absurd as single unit per tile which seems to be back.

If organizing and moving SoDs around the map and building transport ships is what animates you, you're going to be gravely disappointed by Civ VI (as, presumably, you were disappointed by Civ V).

my dad had that avatar picture in his office Browd since as long as I can remember... and yes, as the OP states, I have already realized this
