Has anyone else noticed this?
Strategic resources, when exhausted, tend to pop up as being discovered somewhere else. I've seen several examples of this in my own empire. I'll exhaust some Coal, and it will pop up somewhere else on the map...sometimes in another part of my country, sometimes not.
They tend to migrate randomly to another square that supports that resource type.
This migration tends to happen more frequently at higher difficulty levels, I've also noticed.
This brings up an important strategic point: When you lose say, your only source of oil, your opponent may find it falling into his lap!
Does anyone know if having a trade contract for strategic resources prevents the resource from migrating? Kinda hard to prove a negative like that, but I would think if the Coal you were trading suddenly moved, your contract would be broken and you'd take a hit.
