The Five Samurai Ride Again - Sengoku Conquest (Deity)

Re-oriented the armies east except for a couple of brigades and garrisons in the west for the new towns.

BuildUp.jpg

Woke up all the settlers in New Nara and moved west and to the coasts with trailing workers. The troops out there are doing Ainu supression and picquet duty.

Our biggest rival has his fleet to our north.

Used the treasury to kick off WLKTD because I like smiley faces and have little else to do with the cash. Saw no need to spend it down rushing troops or infrastructure until the build up in the east is complete and there is an accurate inventory of force available. There were plenty of settlers availabe in New Nara to fill the west.

There is also a small concentration of troops in the far NE, though not enough and they may be in the wrong places if RYO decides to take us on out there. Their navy sailed into view on the very last turn.

My favorite monk executes a very nice set up. I think you are right, we should try and grab these Tokugawan cities before razing the capitol.

Good question about the Ryo navy. We may want to have some patrols along the northern coast in case of a sneak attack.

G-man - if you have time go a head and take it. If not, I can grab it later.

Should we declare on one of the off-mainland tribes and align the RYO with us, so that we give their navy a place to sail to?

Preflight check: nada, but bring down the lux slider a bit so we make 223gpt instead of 106gpt. I just like rolling in the doe :)

T1: Apr 1545AD Demand and get 148g from the Date. DoW anyways. Ally the Ryuzoji vs Date for 588g and WM

T2: Jul 1545AD

T3: Oct 1545AD I guess we’re ready for another war. DoW on Tokugawa. Take Nakatsugawa, losing a Mounted Samurai.
Take Ise, losing 2 Sam Warriors. Abandon and replace with Ise.

T4: Jan 1546AD Take Komagane, losing 1 MS; Abandon Nakatsugawa; Bombard Hamamatsu like crazy, but don’t make a dent. Move up 2 Armies.

T5: Apr 1546AD Take Shizuoka

T6: Jul 1546AD Hamamatsu is tough to crack. Bombard units hit about 25% of the time, lose the Archer Army trying to kill a ¾ YB.

T7: Oct 1546AD

T8: Jan 1547AD Finally, can redline the Daimyo in Hamamatsu. However, before finishing him off, I make a try for Kawasaki with 4 MS and succeed!
Now, for the Tokugawa:

toasty :)

Sorry, but this is all I can do tonight. We’re @ 30/28, so next player may be able to finish this off. With the majority of our troops towards the NE and no ships to speak of, we pretty much must push into the Takeda or Uesugi to finish it. Settlers heading towards the coast, but we could probably rush more. Also, rush temples along coastal towns to get the coastal tiles to count.

I definitely feel that the Samuria Arquebusier bombardment is better than the firecannon bombardment. The 2 shots definitely makes up for the lower power.

I have it. Who's next? Takeda? I won't be playing for 24 hours or so since Handy 19 is up first. How shall we finish this one?

imho, go after the Takeda and MA the Uesugi. It'll keep the front much narrower. Also, I blocked that little pennisula S of the Uesuge so we can run a few settlers down there and claim the land.

Early – Start with 30% land and 29% pop. Start marching towards Takeda. Found Gengisiman, Gormichi, and Gozpelhama in honor of my old SG mates. We lose a worker to a Date yamabushi. I didn’t even check to see if we were at war. I dial up the Date and they give us their WM & 139G for that worker.

Middle - Found New Ueno and New Toba.

Late – Since I am in position, I ask Takeda to leave our lands and they declare war.
We start marching. First target…

Found New Ise. Begin an assault on Niigata. Kill two defenders, but we’re short on attackers. The range of the fire cannons is nice though.

Take Niigata next turn

We’re now at 35% of land. I’ll join in workers to get our pop up.

Not enough. I take Joetsu on the next turn.

Join in the remainder of our workers and…

Thanks for a great game gents.

I was able to win with the Mori on Deity. The biggest problem I had was the War Council. Someone else would always build it and hold the election. Once I got the War Council, winning was easy.
This Conquest on Deity was amazingly repetitive, and the last turns were a massive chore for me, and I imagine that they were for others as well. This might be what prevents a Sid attempt.

Good work finishing it off :)

Congrats  ! Is sid doable on this conquest? I think it's doable as the Mori, as they have somewhat of a choke so you can expand a lot.

But judging by Gyathaars enthusiasm I doubt you'll do this again ;) . Congrats again.
I think it should be doable on sid with a bit of luck.. as far as I remember the AIs start with only 1 settler no matter what difficulty, so that takes away most of the sting from sid..
My lack of entusiasm hopefully wont prevent the others from trying :)

Nice job all 'round

Good times.

Nicely played out gents!

Way to finish it off :goodjob:
