Premiered last night on comedy central. Im intreseted to hear people's thoughts on the movie, assuming anyone saw it.

From comedy central...

"Starring Adam Goldberg, Andy Dick and Mario Van Peebles. When the Jewish Justice League needs a hero to save Chanukah from a psychotic, anti-Semitic Santa, there's only one man to call: Mordechai Jefferson Carver, a.k.a. The Hebrew Hammer. He's an ace private dick and a smooth-talking dude. Yes, he may also be a momma's boy but don't cross him 'cause he's the baddest Jew in town. Together with the Kwanzaa Liberation Front, The Hammer takes no prisoners in his quest to hunt down the renegade Santa and make the holiday season safe for all."

Even if meant as comedy for someone to make a show about it must mean the thoughts are running around in peoples heads.

I would have thought that this sort of racism is frowned upon but the true nature is revealed isn't it? Too bad the majority is either too stupid to understand or mesmerized by false propaganda.

Man, I'd hate to have to work at Comedy Central.

"We traded Mystery Science Theater for this? S#$&!"

Comedy Central has always aired offensive shows. What's new? I remember one South Park episode having Jewish Rabies running a concentration camp of tolerance.

It amazes me how every year comedy the "pushes the envelope" of offensiveness gets accepted by the masses.

At what point do we say this is not funny?

I hated it. It was so bizarre and unfunny. PAINful to watch. I didn't even finish it... Even Andy Dick was unfunny. How awful. :p

The thing was, most of the people that I knew who loved it were Jewish themselves.

Another thing is, I don't really see how this is different from the dozens of shows/movies that are/were completely built off of american black stereotypes, but next to nobody complains about them. Hell, the hebrew hammer had black stereotypes in it.

At whatever point people change the channel.

True, that is why I don't watch garbage like this. Yet this message of hate is still being broadcasts to those willing to watch it. Does that mean it is constructive to society to let untastefull comedy to be aired? Explain...............

I didn't watch the show, so I can't comment about the specifics of it.

However, I firmly believe that the interests of society are best served by allowing people maximum leeway in what they are allowed to say. Trying to stuff bigots in the closet doesn't get rid of them, it just gives them space to operate. Stick them in the daylight, and they wither away.

Note: I'm not suggesting that this particular program contained messages of hate. I didn't watch it. I assume that it merely milked stereotypes for all they were worth. But even if it did contain hateful messages, I don't think the government should be the one to block it. The advertisers will take care of that.

Is it really a message of hate?

I didn't see it, so I don't know, but I do know that Jewish comics love to joke about being Jewish, to the point that it seems offensive to outsiders (and would indeed be offensive if the ones making the jokes weren't Jewish).

Bravo, I agree with you on this point.

From the synopsis, it sounds like something I'd watch. However, the reviews in this thread (particularly Superevie's) have made me rethink that.

If this movie will offend me when I see it, I suspect it will offend me because they took a potentially hilarious concept and made an unfunny movie rather than because of any offensive jokes made in it.

That's free speech. Take it or leave it.

If something ceases to be funny, then it will not get viewers, and the problem will solve itself. I hate political correctness anyways.

It was okay, especially compared to some of the other crap they have been showing lately. I knew this would raise a fuss the moment I saw the commercials. I see several here watched it, which probably got it higher ratings and would give "The Commies" (the Comedy Central Award Show) higher ratings.

This doesn't sound offensive to me. I'm 99% sure that the show was the idea of a jew BTW. Making jokes about their own culture seems to be very popular with most of them. It's an healthy attitute anyway.

BTW I thought this thread would be about this guy:

It wasnt too bad. It starts to ramble on near the end though. It certainly didn't look too much like Jewish bashing (typical jokes from Jewish comedy routines). If anything, it was the Jewish looking down upon Christmas and "gentiles" while teaming up with Kwanzaa.

At heart it was a crappy movie, if anything it was stupid rather then some hate propaganda.

It makes fun of Jewish people, Christians (quite a lot) and a whole heap of other people. I'm not even religious and I felt offended! It's just terribly bizarre as well and jumps from one thing to the next. For example, the Hammer is supposed to be shoting Andy Dick's character. Hammer gets distracted by one of Dick's Santa-clad blonde bimbo's cleavage. We are forced to stare at this girl's cleavage and are totally taken out of what's going on! That's only a minor flaw. Who wants to see anti-semite children chase the Hammer and his sidekick through a store while "Jews escaping in aisle 12" is being said on the loudspeaker. Oh, HA HA.

This is actually pretty funny.

*Chinese kids working in Santa's Sweatshop*
"We love you Dr. Jones!"
"Why do you keep calling me that???"

or

"I want you to distribute the most addictive anti-Jewish thing on the market - Its a Wonderful Life."
