Little thing about the Days That Shook The World. I'm not happy with the map but I couldn't find any of Russia - so I simple cut a Europe map with Ocean tiles. Anyway, it works.

I admit the propaganda effects of this scenario - I'm completely guilty. :)

Early 1918, the Soviets start with about the same power as thier Zarist opponents.
Advantages: city improvements 'Free Land' and 'Workers Owned Factory' produce militias, Trotzkijs Call in Moscow may manufacture the first army in 12 turns or so, the Revolution wonders produce heaps of culture, with 'Motion Pictures' discovered Red Movie Squads my be produced and 'sacrificed' for culture...
Disadvantages: Zarists still have their original amounts of culture, new nationalities and imperialist intervention troops invade the new nation, among them are tricky units like German Freikorps, Machno's Riders and Ukrainian Cossacks.
Future obstacles: With the discovery of 'Party Cult' most of the benefits of the Revolution won't work anymore and lose their military and cultural effects - the discovery is useful though as it makes way for better manufacturing and education.

Yet to do: update the Civilopedia, come up with a smoother way into Stalinism in the end.

I just noticed I'll have to get the old wonders out, still - but here's a screen anyway.

Looks interesting. The map indeed could be better.
We've had a lot of discussion about the Russian Revolution in the TGW thread and how to implement it. Got to check this out sometime.
I'm thinking of doing a Finnish Civil War scenario myself.

That's about one of the few things really intended: The actual revolution took place in fall 1917 leading to civil war, before that the Western part of the country was under WWI condition fighting and most of the time losing against the Mittelmächte. So I tried to display a situation in which many cities have been conquered and reconquered, which gives them only a small culture ratio. At the beginning of the scenario, every 'Red' city is only 'Red' for a maximum of two months.

The Zarist cities that are unaffected by both the World War and the Civil War so far still have their temples and cathedrals and thus higher cultural ratios. When playing the Soviets one has to build as many Revolution improvements as possible to spread the borders, with the discovery of 'Motion Pictures' you can use the Red Movie Squad unit by sacrificing it for culture. Only by expanding the borders you will get access to horses and saltpeter (which should happen pretty soon and make you build Budjonny's) and get even with the monarchists in the cultural part of the war.

still, its better to have the gaps filled.

@sarevok
Gosh, I thought I had a good explanation...

@loulong
Thanx a lot, I'll do that soon - though the map is a bit bigger than I needed it. This way I can include the Far East Republic and the invasions of Vladivostok and Central Asia.
Lotta work to do, will take some time.

@Luddi VII

I know how to do it and for all the cities that hadn't just been conquered and/or reconquered in 1918, f.e. Omsk which hosted the White government.

@Mobilize

The intervening nations have one or two cities who feature one or more of the the special city improvements Intervention Port (producing an Infantry every alternate turn), Landing Facility (producing a slow early Tank very 3 turns), an Intervention Airfield (producing an Fighter wing every 5 turns). The longer the Bolshevists wait for conquering these off-track ports the heavier the intervention forces come on.
