How do people feel about the year 2020AD? If you get to that year and still have not either conquered the world or finished your spaceship, do you accept the offer to keep playing, or do you start over because the score is no longer being kept? Score matters little to me, so I just keep playing. I get more satisfaction from completing a goal, so if 2020 rolls around and I am within sight of finishing, I keep going just for fun.

I've never actually gotten to 2020 without winning. I always win before 2000. I usually quit after winning, because i don't have the patience to micromanage 100+ cities! So in short, I don't keep playing.

it depends how much I've gone if my saceship has been launched or the's only 2 civs and I am stronger I continue , otherwise I quit.

I"ve only gone past 2020 once, when I was behind (spaceship AND military) the Souix. I played for awhile trying to catch up, and never could, so I quit before any spaceships were launched. That was before I discovered this site. My current game I launched spaceship around 1855AD; just waiting for it to land.

I never play after I have won the game, which is normally in 2019 since that is the last possible year in Emperor, but I have one small question:
The game ends in 2020 on Emperor diff and in
2100 on Chief diff, but when does it end in
Deity??? I have always assumed that they would end in the year 2020, so I have finished all my games by then, but someone told me that they go to 2100 is this for real???

I don't think that's true. To make it easier to build a spaceship in Chieftan, you get more turns to do it. However, this time differece is made up in the beginning, where each turn represents 20? years, as opposed to 50 in prince and above.

Occasionally I play after 2020. It can be satasfying to crush an opponent that has dogged you for 6000 years, so I usually take that opportunity even if my spaceship has already landed.
i've launched a space ship and it landed 4years later. I like to plya past 2020AD. I just like to build up my empire
