ThermoNuclear Domination

I use them for fun most of the time but if your loseing an lot of troops to an highly defended city nuke it!

What I like to do is to make 2-3 Nuclear Subs with a Tacticle Nuke on it and send within striking distance of the capital city. If that civ gets out of hand, I send 2-3 nukes at it's capital and surrounding area.

I have never got to use them to salvage a game, but if nukes are around when the game ends, I will launch them during the "just a few more turns phase". Hopefully, King George (Bush) the IVth or Vth won't be in office when the year 2050 rolls around in fear that he shares my game playing habits and has the same grasp of reality as the current King George.

I ICBM'd Cincinatti today, I just wanted to capure it in my last turn as the Germans. Then the Chinese, my trusty allies, declared war on me...Unfortunately after that turn my spaceship was complete :nuke:

I was only involved in a nuclear war during the course of the regular game once. The whole world was a furball. One of those games where if you saw a unit with a different color than yours, you attacked, and thanked God for the foreign advisor to warn you off of hitting the one or two with whom you were not at war (this was an 8 player game).

Friggin' India blasted me with 'em after I, in desperation, hit the shore off of China with a tactical nuke, just to pollute the square containing their last rubber resource. Then I had to go and kill the purple people, too.

War elephants are funny when they die.

Later!

This may sound stupid but how (if you can) do you launch Tatical Nukes from Nuke Subs?? I tried to but it wouldn't let me so I actually had to offload my nuke on the land I was about to nuke and needless to say they didn't really like that much!!

can you say... Fire in the hole?

Just press B. Should work.

In Regicide mode, nukes are very useful. I, on my last game, would have had to go through dozens of squares of my enemy's territory before I reached where his king was. But with 1, sometimes 2 nukes, I killed his king and did not lose one single unit to fighting. Other civs declared war on my, but I nuked them too, and killed there king. I guess the other AI civs learned not to declared war on me, even after launching over 20 ICBMs and Tatical Nukes. Nukes + Regicide = easy victory (if your the first to use them, and use them all on one turn)

The AI doesn't do well with Regicide or Mass Regicide; they are meant to be used against other human players. Personally, I wish Kings were immune to Nukes as a 50% chance that that civ is totally annihilated is just too good, even for Nukes.

I think it's every madman's dream to start a particularly nasty, bloody war with millions of casualties right before he dies of natural causes. What could be a better way to depart the cruel fate known as life?

or as Nelson from the Simpsons would say:

"HA HA!!"

:p

I love nuking on Regicide even with human players. All you have to do is steal plans then launch the ICBM. There is no way for them to stop it unless they get the defense

for fun? you nuts!!?!! (i frogot, u dont have any!)

Nukes work for destroying enemy fleets, good thing is, no pollution! (normally)

nukes, every one uses nukes for a singular attack, a pot shot, a bit of fun, why oh why doesnt everyone build up 30-40 nukes and totally obliterate an enemy civ, I did this, indians, They'd been doing well, they had a relatively small empire, (16 compacted cities) I sent 35 nukes to attack, every single one of his city tiles where polutted, he was out, of the game, his army small, and I scared the **** out of the english!

wow, it atomatically blocked out my swearwords!(forget to asterix) cool.

****, **** **** **** **** **** and ****

lol my favorite strategery is as soon as i hit modern age i beeline to mech inf and modern armor, and while i'm building a hugee force of modern armor i'm reserching into nukes and the likes, but anyway when i'm ready to attack i usualy finished nuke reserach and i build 30-300 ICBM, yes i usualy have about 30-40 high production core cities 100-200+ shield production on wartime production. so i build up my ICBM force up pretty fast then the outlaying cities keep on building modern armor, then i nuke every single last citiy in the damn game then my boulder bust open with my horde :)

classical way to play the game if u ask me :) also very FAST way to win, one or two attack a city die, then rest leapfrog to the next and so on heh.

on regant btw gotta to move up

ICBMs are great for responding to the insults of either another player or the AI. Nothing like responding to an insult with a mushroom cloud...:)

I usually use nuke for food. Among many other useful purposes, nuke is also good for converting ocean and lake into land. Have you ever seen fish on the railroad?:D
