Previous Turnchat

1250BC Game Save

Sorry about the late notice. I looked around noon to see what the instructions for a Saturday (today) chat would be and found there was no instruction thread posted. It would not be fair to give no time to post instructions, so let's try tomorrow instead.

Thursday was an all-day class for me, trouble at work Friday, and slept late today trying to catch up :(. Just as well someone with apparently less RL committments is taking over..

The next turnchat is scheduled for Sunday 8/29.

Research Polytheism and after that Monarchy.
If we get both techs, please start on the winner of this poll.

I think it is wise to stop when we learn both techs to let the citizens decide whehter the new Government should rule under Monarchy or under a Despot (no offense great ruler DaveShack ;) )

Have fun

Instructions FA

In order to help a smooth transition of the FA ministry, I follow my usual doctrine of in game checks of diploscreens in tutn 1, 5 and 10. I also leave all of my powers to Deputy, soon to be Minister of the FA, Blackheart, in order to assure a smooth transition following turn 10.

Oh, I am such a teamworker.

All Spears produced should either Garrison or stand by for Settler/worker escort duty.

The Far Eastern warrior should continue to explor to the North.

The Southern warriors should continue to expose the Babylonian border and the coastline. Except for the Middle southern warrior who should go north search the Odawara area for barbarians once it gets there.

The Warrior NE of Immo should do Explore to the NW and lift the fog which is North of Zojoji.

City Naming Office Instructions

At most, two cities should be founded during this turnchat. They should be called, in order:
1. Shorin-Ryu
2. Regent Town

Okinawa, though a second listing, was chosen because I looked up "Shorin Ryu (thinking it was an island) and it turned out to be a martial art. Hopefully CivGeneral won't mind, and I am notifying him of the choice. (UPDATE: CivGeneral requested Shorin-Ryu, and therefore its been changed.)

Regent Town has remained in English despite my protests because RegentMan did not want to change it, which he was every right to.

Ryu is path in Japanese, just letting you know, and I guess CG wants that.

Actualy, I do mind.
I wanted Shorin-Ryu to be named first

In case something comes up and I'm not online, note to other DP's:

Use CivGeneral's 1st choice name as requested, instead of the 2nd choice name shown in the city naming office's "instructions". In fact, I would like us to check the registry to see what the real names are, just in case there is something else messed up, while we attend to the important business of teaching our naming volunteer once and for all that names matter, stick to the script.

If no domestic instructions use site 8E for the current settler.

If no trade instructions, try to get something useful out of the things we no longer have a monopoly on. Nothing stupid like selling techs for 5 gold, but if it's the slightest bit reasonable and we don't have a monopoly, go for it. Better for us to get something out of it than to let a rival get rich due to our inactivity. OTOH if we do have a monopoly and there is something interesting, we need to stop so the citizens can decide. If trade instructions are posted, ignore this paragraph.

Trade Deputy's Instructions

Code:
French
We Give They Give
Mysticism 35g

Please note that if the Trade Minister posts his instructions, the deputy's instruction set will be null and invoid

Settlement
Please settle on site 8E, then on site 5S on this map.

Slider settings
The luxury slider may be set to 10% as necessary to keep order, and the science slider is to be set to maximize research while maintaining at least 0 GPT. If a tech can be researched in the same amount of turns, but with a lower science-setting and thus generating more income, lower the sci-slider to that setting.
