unit promotion thresholds

Where would I find the file to modify the exp. pts. at which units can be promoted (2,5,10,17?,26?, etc...) - I've looked all over the place, and I can't find it for the life of me.

I've tried to find these too, to no avail. Hope someone knows where to edit them - and that they are editable in the first place!

I remember reading in a thread that it's hard-coded into the game.

It is hardcoded, as far as I can tell. I posted a workaround on a thread about a week ago. It takes the form of a python script which allows you to alter the thresholds the game uses, however, it does not fix the GUI: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=146848

I think the GUI should be doable by a similar workaround though. I might take a look if you really want me to.
