Has anyone ever bother to fingure out what the somperable real world unit size designator would be. For example is a legion really comperable to a Roman legion? Or is and armour unit comperable to a brigade, regiment, division or corps? Understandablly this is is not all that vital (if at all) to the actual play of the game, but I was just curious.

I tend to look at a unit as a scaleable size. On smaller maps, they are considered to be divisions or "armies". On huge maps (all I play now), I consider them to be battalions. The manpower size, to me, depends on the era you are in. Ancient warrior units have fewer men than modern units. Just my 2 cents.

There is no unit size. Just as it makes no sense that a train can take you across the country in one turn, but it take 10 to use a ship.
