The pointer in Civ 4 never worked with my USB mouse - it was frozen from when the game menus first load.
I was able to install an old PS/2 mouse on the system, and that works.
There's not much in the forums here or else where about this USB mouse problem. Are they working on it? Is there a work around other than using a nasty old PS/2 mouse?
I'm not sure if everyone is having this problem, though it's hard to imagine. One odd thing I noticed is that there are two hardware entries for USB mouses (mice?), probably because I have had too connected to the system at the same time in the past. Perhaps the game is grabbing the wrong one somehow?
