voice chatting

I'm trying to get voice chatting to work on Civ. The manual says scroll lock lets u talk, but it either loads the civpedia or a city screen for me. My friend and I can both talk on AIM chat, so the hardware should not be the problem. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

bump again... Using google chat at the momment, but that only works for two people....

Yeah, ive been having the same problem. I was able to run google chat in the background, but that only works with one other person. And the sound is all messed up anyway.
