I've had two games in a row in which there were two "Pirates" factions, and each was the same color! In the second of the two games, the two factions bordered on each other so I couldn't even tell where one began and the other ended.

Surely this isn't as intended?

Is there a way around the problem without having to specify all the factions beforehand?

Sorry but why do you have 2 pirates faction.
What do you mean with pirates, "Nautilus pirates" or something else

Well, quite literally, one faction is called "Nautilus Pirates," and the other is called "Nautilus Pirates -2."

One leader is called "Sveensgaard" (sp?) and the other "Sveensgaard -2."

And as I said, they are two different factions, but the same color nonetheless. Its funny to watch them go to war with each other.

This has happened in two of my games so far, both times with the Pirate faction.

Also, in the interest of learning, I was wondering what else I might have meant by "Pirates"? I'm new to the game and could use any heads-up I can get...

I have heard that when using the random opponent select feature in Alien Crossfire, it is possible to get only one of the Progenitor factions (every game is supposed to have either both or none). Perhaps there are other random selection-related bugs.

Having two pirat factions would be like having two roman civs in Civ games. It should impossible but.........
BTW have you been doing some custom faction making or changed something in you Alpha C. foulder? If you did, i would recomend you uninstall the game and than reinstall it (and slap your hand the next time you want to edit something).
