What is the "seed" # on the Choose Your World screen for??

Nope, it's just a random number to 'create' your game with the settings you choose.

For example, go into your Conquests.ini file in your Conquests folder, and scroll down a bit. You will see something like "Seed" or "LatestSeed" and then an "=########". That is your most recently used seed for your latest game (even if you didn't enter one, it gives you one).

There is no chart however..

The map seed is the number the map is given EXAPLE: If you have a random map generated it gives you a world seed, which is the number that map was given. You do it again you get another map with ANOTHER map seed. It's just there so that you know if you've used the same map twice.

And in case you want to play the last game again (PLay Last World option).

Question is, if someone else, on another computer types in your seed #, will it generate the same map? (if so that would be a really powerful feature)

Or one step on, is there a way of playing the same game as someone else by entering a seed # (e.g. someone starts a game as a particular civ and passes the details onto me in the form of a no.)?

Sorry to interrupt but I seriously doubt the world seed number to be totally random.
If absolutely random then what is the point at showing it to the player?!
So that he/she can play on the same map?!
Well, there is that thing in the editor called "saving" therefore world seed would be useless.
Haven't tried to analyze data but I'm pretty sure it determines resources and luxuries and at least some ratio between different type of terrains depending on map settings (size, ocean coverage, land type...).
