what kind of community created mods do you like to play with?

Mine fall into a couple categories:
1) Bug fix mods - I use these as they pop up, usually just minor things
2) UI/QOL mods - I use a ton of these, like the "Better" and "Real" series by Infixo, "Concise UI" by eudaimonia. They make absorbing all the data much easier and with fewer clicks. I also use a few map UI ones like "Vegetation Variety" and "Tactical Camera". "More Lenses" "Sukritact's Global Relations Panel" and "Alternate Policy Screen" are must haves as well.
3) Map gen mods - GOT LAKES? Is my favorite, and of course YNAMP is a classic.

Unlimited barb XP: if I am going to be fighting these jerks for the entire game, I'm going to need something more than 35 gold for clearing a camp for my trouble. The cap on barb XP is something I have never understood.

Expanded religions: the one that adds a bunch of new religions to the game. The vanilla list is severely lacking.

Civilizations Expanded: It reworks every civ and makes them all more powerful. I always turn it off when new content drops though and back on when bored.

You mean turn it back on when they adjusted it for the new Leaders and Civilizations.

All the mods I play with currently fall into one of three categories:
  1. Purely cosmetic mods, like Rosetta. I have a couple mods of my own that fall into this category.
  2. UI improvements that just present more or better information than the base game: More Lenses, Better Report Screen, Better Unit List...
  3. Map scripts, though Gaia is the only one I use regularly.
I might be more inclined to try gameplay mods later. I just haven't been playing 6 long enough to want to do that.

Never used it, I think I'll give it a try. I think the reasoning is that Barbs can be milked if you choose not to clear their camps. At the very least they should provide half XP imo, not just 1XP.

Edit: Just found a mod called More Barbarian XP which does pretty much what I described, rather than completely removing the cap. Nice!

Only UI Mods. Better Report Screen + Extended Policy cards (showing the yields on the policy cards is something that Firaxis really should implement in the game), and Better Trade Screen.
